Get Involved with One Thing

President's Note What's Your One Thing?

Have you considered what your one thing could be? It’s something I’ve given much thought to recently.

Life only seems to be getting more and more hectic, with a seemingly endless list of to-do‘s, family commitments and social activities. Among all that, we know we should find a shred of time which we can use for our own self-care too. I’m not sure about you, but that feels, well, difficult for me these days. But, when I think about the concept of "one thing," I think, maybe I can make that work. Maybe that one thing is taking some time to sit on the porch and sip a drink of choice. Maybe that one thing is scheduling a long overdue hair appointment. Maybe that one thing is reconnecting with a friend with whom you’ve been out of touch for too long. In any case, we owe it to ourselves to find one thing that can recharge our batteries.

One thing that recharges my batteries is bringing together a big group of my Pi Phi sisters! Doesn't it feel like it’s been a long time coming? We all weathered the anomaly that was 2020, and with trepidation we found our way back to society in 2021. Then, hesitantly accepted some non-essential social commitments in 2022 and now, let's do this! We have planned a full schedule of activities to share friendship and fun and I hope some can speak to your interests. (Mark your calendar!) We’re ready for you to join us. Of course, you’re thinking: “Oh I have so many things to be keeping up with, I couldn’t possibly, make time for a Pi Phi event.” And that’s exactly why we think you should!

When did you last reconnect with the sisters that you chose to have? What excites you about reconnecting and taking a couple of hours for yourself? Your Indianapolis alumnae club is here for you - we are SO ready to welcome you back - to remember that Friendship True that we all pledged back in our college days and to find a little fun in our “later-in-life” days!

I welcome the opportunity to see you this fall. Go ahead and reach out to another Pi Phi nearby whom you haven’t met up with in a while and invite them to join you too, because it is in our numbers that we find support, strength, sisterhood, and one thing that we can be proud to be a part of.

Now Accepting Volunteers!

Our Club could not continue to run without dedicated volunteers. Our most pressing need is help with social media and communications. Please reach out if you have an interest in helping with the Club. Maybe your one thing is organizing or hosting an event. Or sharing a great idea for an interest group, literacy opportunity or content for our members. Whatever it is, we would love to hear from you at indypiphi@gmail.com.
